Aerotech is committed to serving the unique requirements of laser processing and laser machining applications by manufacturing the highest performance motion and positioning systems and components for laser cutting, laser marking, laser welding (including seam welding and hermetic seam welding), laser etching, and other laser machining and laser micromachining applications. Aerotech developments in the areas of mechanics, controls, software, and laser control have provided end users, systems integrators, and OEMs with the best possible laser cutting, laser welding, laser etching, and laser marking systems available today.
Leadership in this industry has continued through the years by listening to the needs of our customer base. This valuable feedback has lead to the development of advanced laser cutting and laser marking features such as Position Synchronized Output for precise laser registration, hardcover sealed stage designs for long life and low maintenance of the laser cutting component, and sophisticated plotting and diagnostic utilities that enable the rapid debugging of process and motion parameters. Simply put, our laser cutting, laser welding, laser marking, and laser etching systems provide you with the lowest cost of ownership and the best return on your investment.
New developments in laser cutting and laser marking systems include the ability to seamlessly integrate PLC and vision capabilities with motion to provide the most comprehensive automation solutions for your needs. Coupling these advanced software solutions with high performance direct-drive linear and rotary stages provides laser machine manufacturers with a solid base on which to build the highest throughput and most accurate machines in the laser processing industry.
We offer complete solutions for 2D, 2.5D, and 3D laser cutting, laser welding, and other laser machining applications. Aerotech can supply a precision aligned, multi-axis, articulated system with micron-level rotary axis of intersection and arc-second orthogonality between axes.
Laser cutting of square or rectangular pipes presents a different challenge from cylindrical tube processing. Aerotech’s Automation 3200 motion platform reduces programming complexity and time by allowing the user to write programs for square or rectangular CNC pipe cutting in simple, flat, 2D space. The controller then wraps the pattern around the square pipe and the X, Y, Z and rotary motion are automatically generated from the pipe dimensions.
Aerotech also has developed products for specific applications such as cardiac pacemaker hermetic seam welding. An example is Aerotech’s HermeSys™, a holistic design that optimizes all aspects of the cardiac pacemaker hermetic seam welding process. Specialized mechanics are used to accurately position the cardiac pacemaker during the laser welding process. Onboard kinematics allows the programming of laser weld geometry in part space for rapid optimization of process parameters on the machine (no post-processing required). Finally, a reference design is available for an automated material handling system to ensure that the part load/unload cycle can keep pace with the optimized cardiac pacemaker laser welding process.
Aerotech is expert at providing our laser processing and laser machining customers with the ideal components and systems for their application. We look forward to discussing your application.
