Aldermaston - UK, April 2004: Aerotech has released a new 32 page information brochure examining cost effective solutions for a wide range of high precision manufacturing and test applications. With detailed illustrations showing actual application examples, the new publication illustrates how a combination of increased speed, accuracy and reliability are key factors in determining higher throughput and ultimately lower-cost-of-ownership for automation equipment.
Specific application solutions covered include electronics assembly, pick and place, PCB laser drilling, stencil cutting, wafer singulation, non-destructive testing and data storage. Featured Aerotech products used in such applications comprise ANTTM nano-translation linear stages and sub arc second rotary tables as part of complete systems controlled by the award winning A3200 Digital Automation Platform and associated servo drive hardware. This breakthrough software based machine control system combines motion, HMI, PLC and vision control modules with an industry standard Firewire® high performance communication network used to control up to 32 axes of high speed motion; additionally a 10/100 Base T Ethernet interface may be used to add third party I/O and PLCs. The new brochure shows how such digital automation systems can be applied to both new and existing applications to simplify integration and reduce the cost associated with traditional hardware based motion controllers.
