Aerotech UK have added a new 50 m2 demonstration room to its training facilities in Aldermaston, aimed at helping customers solve application problems and reduce system commissioning time.
The purpose-built room is equipped with representative products from Aerotechs wide range of linear and rotary positioning and motion control systems as well as measurement equipment that will allow comprehensive evaluation in terms of precision, integration, production throughput and overall cost of ownership. Customers considering an automated positioning application or those awaiting the delivery of an Aerotech engineered solution will be able to evaluate mechanical technologies and develop application specific software.
Customers using the facility will have Aerotech's technical support engineers on-hand for specific assistance and will be able to work on ideas and applications solutions in their own time in a relaxed environment.
"This application evaluation concept is something we have effectively been doing for several years and we are sure the extra investment in the demonstration room will be of great benefit to our customers and to our own technical support staff" says Dr Cliff Jolliffe, Aerotech UK's General Manager. "When our customers are able to dedicate quality time to software and application evaluation before the delivery of a system, we experience a noticeable reduction in support issues indicating that they are managing much better and saving time and cost. This is especially apparent when our customers 'learning curve' has to be maintained under the pressure of a production deadline".
Single and multi axis positioning equipment available in the new demonstration facility includes ballscrew and gear driven linear and rotary positioners and very high performance direct-drive linear and rotary stages. Bearing technologies include cross roller, linear motion guide and Aerotech's advanced air bearing products.
Motion control and automation solutions available for evaluation include Aerotech's award winning Automation 3200, 32-axis Motion, Vision and I/O network and the new SoloistTM, single axis digital integrated servo controller providing an Ethernet based distributed drive solution with coordinated point to point motion for up to 1000 axes.
The demonstration room complements Aerotech's European training and education programme - part of the comprehensive technical support and field service available to all its customers and distributors.
