Aerotech announces the availability of
the BA Intellidrive series compact indexers. BA Intellidrives provide
low-cost control for many simple positioning applications. BAIs operate
in indexing and teach modes to drive brush and brushless servomotors. In
addition, BAIs have analog and RS-232 interfaces and will accept
standard clock and direction inputs for stepping system replacements.
The BA Intellidrive is capable of
point-to-point motion from a stored program, initiated from an input or
through remote mode. Acceleration and velocity parameters are easily
pre-defined for the moves. Advanced features include integer-based math,
index/freerun moves done using registers, velocity profiling,
conditional gotos based on register content, homing, and more. A
hand-held terminal or a PC can be used for setup and programming. A
sophisticated Windows tuning, programming, and diagnostic utility also
is available for the BAI.
Simple programs are stored in the BAI
and executed in macro form. In addition, the BAI can accept commands via
RS-232 for immediate execution in the remote mode. Straightforward
parameters make it easy to configure and tune the BAI, with advanced
error handling and fault detection algorithms.
Another advantage of the BAI series is
compact size. BAIs are available with continuous output currents from 5
to 50 amps and up to 100 amps peak. Bus voltages of 40 to 320 volts are
available to drive motors using the internal sine commutation scheme.
Units are completely modular and require no power supply. |
