Aerotech's ANT series direct-drive linear actuators overcome the
inherent shortcomings of screw-based designs. This robust, high-speed
linear actuator employs linear motion guide bearings and a glass
linear encoder equipped with home marker and optical limits, resulting
in very accurate linear actuators. These elements are connected
directly to the output spindle assembly that is constrained in
low-friction bearings. This configuration allows backlash-free
operation of the linear actuator, industry-leading 10-nanometer
resolution, excellent repeatability, in-position stability of
the linear actuator, and positioning speed exceeding 250 mm per
