The ATS1100-H is a compact, high-performance stage
that is as accurate as it is versatile. It provides a small cross-section,
medium payload capacity, cost-effective alternative for precision
applications where a small footprint and environmental protection
are required. A rigid base and high-performance brushless servomotor
make the ATS1100-H the stage of choice in industrial applications
such as laser machining, medical component manufacturing, and
other applications requiring high accuracy in a production environment.
Rugged, Compact Construction
The integral motor and fully-sealed metal waycovers allow the
ATS1100-H to have a 30% shorter overall length for a given travel
compared to conventional bellows waycover stages with motors mounted
on the end of the stage. This shorter length can be critical in
space conscious applications.
Both the metal waycover and tabletop are treated with a Teflon®-impregnated
hardcoat (Rockwell 62 hardness) that is scratch-resistant and
provides outstanding protection in the harshest applications.
An optional air-purge fitting is available that allows air to
be forced into the body of the stage to create a positive internal
pressure that resists particulates from entering the stage. The
tabletop utilizes stainless steel Helicoil™ inserts to protect
mounting holes against thread wear. Optional stage finishes are
available for various environments, including electroless nickel
plating and vacuum preparation.
Improved Performance and Versatility
The ATS1100-H’s brushless, slotless servomotor is coupled
directly to the precision-ground ball screw. This increases performance
over conventionally coupled motors, providing improved acceleration
and settling times. Sealed linear motion guide bearings with integral
wipers are incorporated to provide excellent payload capability
and long life. The precision-ground ball screw offers application
versatility by providing high speed without sacrificing resolution
or accuracy. The optional HALAR factory calibration further increases
the standard accuracy and repeatability.
Motor and Drives
All ATS1100-H series stages include Aerotech’s high performance
S-series brushless, slotless servomotor technology. Either a line
driver output or amplified sine wave output rotary encoder is
available. Motor power and feedback signals terminate in the stage
endplate, allowing for a simple, clean interface. Aerotech manufactures
a wide range of matching drives and controls to provide a fully
integrated and optimized motion solution.
