Galvo-based scanheads are a fantastic tool for high-speed laser marking of images, text, serialization and other applications. They are, however, limited by the relatively small working field of view. Aerotech’s Nmark SSaM solves this problem.

Aerotech’s Nmark SSaM scanhead controller is an add-on to the award-winning Automation 3200 control platform. The Nmark coordinates a galvo scanhead with one or more servo axes to produce continuous, coordinated motion over a large area while still taking advantage of the high dynamic capabilities of the scanhead.

This video showcases one example of coordinated motion as the Nmark SSaM tracks a moving piece of material and commands the scanhead to mark text and shapes on the fly without having to tile and stitch multiple exposures together.
