Seam Welding
The market for implantable medical devices, such as pacemakers, defibrillators, and neurostimulators, is expanding. As technology advances, the process required to make these devices safe and effective are becoming increasingly complex. Laser seam welding, in particular, has allowed the processes to keep pace with the demands of the market.

HermeSys — Cardiac Pacemaker Medical Device Manufacturing
Our HermeSys is a specially designed system for hermetic seam welding. The integrated multi-axis mechanical structure has a very high stiffness, which allows high accelerations with minimal following error during the rapid starts/stops and direction changes during the welding process.

Square Tube Bending Pipe Cutting
Laser cutting of square or rectangular pipes presents a different challenge from cylindrical tube processing. A cylindrical tube can be treated as a single flat area in a CNC cutting program using the known tube diameter. This video demonstrates the motion generated from a simple 2D CAD file used with a G-code post-processor. Four axes of coordinated motion are generated from the CAD file and known pipe dimensions.
