Custom Automation Controllers

Aerotech’s standard controllers are flexible enough to handle almost any control application. From simple motion to coordinating and synchronizing the motion of multiple axes in your machine, Aerotech automation controllers provide the flexibility and power required for today’s automation challenges.

Users can program in G code, .NET (C#, VB.NET), C, MATLAB®, or LabVIEW®. If the standard product is not flexible enough for your application, Aerotech will customize the controller for your needs with our plug-in architecture that allows special algorithms to be placed at the firmware, real-time OS, or the application layers.

Custom Drives

Aerotech designs and manufactures all of our drive hardware and software in-house. We can easily adapt the design to meet your needs – even for low quantities. Drive packaging can be customized to fit into your design with special algorithms developed at the firmware layer. We can accommodate your needs by using our plug-in architecture for specific algorithms such as 2D bar code, interfaces to non-standard sensors, signal outputs synchronized to servo sample time, and more.

Custom Software

Our control platforms have many programming options: .NET (C#, VB.net), C, G-code, AeroBasic, EPICS, TANGO, MATLAB®, or LabVIEW®. If these don’t meet your needs, the architecture permits custom software to be easily integrated into all layers of the controller, firmware, real-time operating system, or at the application level. This means your custom code can be added to the controller via a plug-in without disturbing the base controller code.

We can develop the custom code for you or with you, from the HMI level to the firmware level, or you can develop it yourself. If you need a special interface (operator interface or programmatic interface), Aerotech can design and develop this with you using an Agile process.

Custom Motors

Aerotech can partner with you to design a custom linear or rotary motor optimized for your specific application at a minimized price. We can customize a motor’s mechanical characteristics (torque/force, length, width, height) as well as the electrical characteristics (bus voltage, resistance, inductance, pole pitch, and current) required for your application. Aerotech controllers offer an extensive array of communication options and protocols so that all of the standard vision packages and smart cameras are easy to integrate into your machine design.
