Aerotech RCP-DELTA Delta Robot and Controller

The RCP-DELTA control system is based on Aerotech’s A3200 Automation controller. The A3200’s networked, distributed architecture provides a scalable platform in which additional robots, I/O, and positioning devices can be easily integrated. Multiple programming interfaces provide deployment flexibility by allowing developers to work in the environment that matches their skill sets or application requirements. External sensors are supported with industry standard fieldbuses (EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP™ and others) or applications operating in the RCP-DELTA’s real-time enabled Windows® operating system.

Automated Alignment Algorithms

Aerotech's A3200 controller includes automated alignment algorithms for optimizing the position of your system based on power throughput. Using analog voltage feedback, the controller monitors power levels and associates them with a specific position, and sets the final position of the motion at the highest power point based on user-defined parameters.

Virtual Pivot Point Kinematics

Aerotech's A3200 controller includes built-in virtual pivot point functionality. Using the ROTATION command, a user can program offsets based on their desired rotation point and associate different axes of motion with specific rotations within the motion system. When an angular motion is then commanded, the linear stages will move to compensate and keep the rotation point in the same position in XYZ space.

Motion Designer Tutorial

Aerotech’s Motion Designer is an easy to use software GUI for generating or importing motion trajectories, and running and then evaluating the trajectory. Motion Designer allows customers the ability to fabricate and run simulated trajectories by generating position, velocity, acceleration, and time profile points, and to download them to the motion controller.

Motion Control Software for Square Tube Bending, Pipe Cutting

Laser cutting of square or rectangular pipes presents a different challenge from cylindrical tube processing. A cylindrical tube can be treated as a single flat area in a CNC cutting program using the known tube diameter. This video demonstrates the motion generated from a simple 2D CAD file used with a G-code post-processor. Four axes of coordinated motion are generated from the CAD file and known pipe dimensions.
