Eliminate Stitching Errors: Infinite Field of View vs. Traditional Marking Techniques

Overview

In traditional marking applications, laser scanners access large areas by using a repetitive stitching method that combines a series of separate marking operations to cover the workpiece. As a result, continuous features that span adjacent marking fields can exhibit stitching errors where the marks are not aligned between the fields.

Aerotech's Infinite Field of View (IFoV) effectively eliminates stitching errors by allowing users of laser scanners to greatly extend the operating area of their system. Patterns that are larger than the working envelope of the scanner can be marked in a continuous fashion, improving mark quality, reducing programming complexity and cycle times.
