Advanced Tuning Tools That Are Simple To Use
Our controllers have many advanced, yet easy-to-use, features and Aerotech’s EasyTune® is just one of these. EasyTune is the most advanced autotuning tool available in a commercial motion controller. Entirely data-driven, the algorithm largely mimics the process followed by an experienced controls engineer. Many existing tuning techniques rely on basic model-fitting or “rules-of-thumb” that ignore machine resonances or nonlinear behavior, but EasyTune directly measures and compensates for these effects. It assumes no prior knowledge of the system properties, and begins with a system identification operation. It continues with the development of a baseline stabilizing controller followed by progressively more sophisticated compensation via loop-shaping procedures. The final controller has the highest bandwidth practical for that particular stage system.

Graphically Create Complex Trajectories With Ease
Creating and programming complex trajectories can be a daunting task. That is why we’ve created a simple and easy-to-use program called Motion Designer. Motion Designer, included with all Q-Series piezo drives, allows the user to create complete trajectories graphically in a very simple and intuitive manner. With plotting and analysis capabilities built-in, the Motion Designer application allows you to program and troubleshoot complex trajectories with lightning speed.
Trigger Events Based On Actual Stage Position
Using Aerotech’s Position Synchronized Output (PSO), you can trigger external events, such as data acquisition, image capture, or laser firing, based on actual stage position. Many competitive controllers require event-based triggering in the time-domain or based on the commanded stage position. This requires very low-latency, high-accuracy timing as well as very good velocity tracking of the motion system. Using Aerotech's PSO, the external event is triggered off of the actual stage position based on a stored array or window. The end result is a much simpler integration and a more accurate process.
